Welcome

Academic Freedom Aotearoa is for the staff and students of tertiary institutions in New Zealand that have the legal responsibility to serve as critic and conscience of society. Anyone with an interest in academic freedom is welcome here. We are volunteers who work together to protect and promote academic freedom.

The Dr Clara Immerwahr essay competition offers a $1000 prize to students. The topic of the essay is the role of conscience in science and technology development, application, and commercialisation
